I disagree Whitemist - I think the housing market will generally be in the dumps (or at least a crash to earth after massive inflation) across the board for the foreseeable future. Centrally located property (downtowns, mass transit, etc), whether condos or homes will probably fair better though.

For the record, unlike Streets, I'd take a condo in Highgrove if someone wanted to give me one.

PS: I used to rent at one of the buildings owned by Highgrove's management/development company. They were rude, unhelpful and all-around a-holes. I wouldn't take a unit in Highgrove if they gave it to me.

Um, Highgrove is wrapped around that dumpy little brick building on the corner and has views of The Classic, Avalon Greyrock, and whatever is across Grove Street. Trump will have amazing views of the Sound (past the crack dens of the South End, that is).

All I know is right now anyone who buys a condo is in it for the long haul. The last "recession" that hit CT, hit the condo market first and longest. Housing sales climbed why before condos did.
