Are you Going to Go My Greenway?

Now that the initial phase of the Mill River restoration is nearing completion, eyes seem to be looking north along a potential greenway linking up to Scalzi Park.

The info and invite from the Mill River Collaborative’s latest newsletter.

Initial design concepts for the Greenway between Scalzi Park and Mill River Park will be shared with the public at a workshop on Thursday December 10th. Design consultants Milone & MacBroom will be on hand to discuss and receive feedback and suggestions on their initial design schemes.
The plans are intended to lead to the restoration of the native plant environment along the west side of the river and the creation of a continuous path for walking, jogging and cycling.

this is great. linking scalzi park to the core of the mill river park and eventually down to harbor pt waterfront will create a meaningful greenway. with the right immprovements it could become a real destination for stamford residents as well as neighboring towns. greenway trails are extremely popular in vacation areas such as cape cod and the mtn west (vail trail).

I am curious, why is there no mention of the city's acquisition of the archstone site on the mill river website? i would think the mill river folks would be boasting about the potential of this parcel. now they can create a more substantive great lawn.

article says that starwood is considering 2 or even 3 different sites for a starwood branded hotel in the south end.

Even though it's far from complete, it's still pretty cool to see an actual flowing Mill River. I can't wait to see the new park emerge!
