Sixth Borough

When you are talking to someone unfamiliar with Stamford, and you are trying to put it in context, do you:

A: Shave the travel distance to NYC? I think I told someone 30 minutes last night. That's practically a stop on the 6 train.
B: Exaggerate how often you go down into the city for fun?

I was in Rockland County at a parade last weekend. When a local asked me which part of Connecticut I was from, I replied "The New York part."

I say an hour or 45- I dread being caught as an exaggerator on something that can be fact checked!
But yes- I do emphasize that we r close to the city!

Have you taken the NYC subway lately? If you go by travel times vs. the subway, New Haven and Philly are the sixth boroughs. Stamford is more an appendage of Manhattan - 30-45 minutes is less then the average commute of a New Yorker.

lol thats funny, most people say they've heard its 30 mins, but I usually say its more like 45 and then complain that it takes like 2 hours during rush hour.
