Buffalo Wild Wings

A break in the top ten action for a restaurant scoop. Buffalo Wild Wings is moving into the old Hacienda location on Summer St across from Ferrante. Can’t say I’ve ever been to one, anyone have an opinion? It can’t make SBC or Houlihan's happy.

Restaurant row is filling back up. Just the old Chinese Buffet to go unless Barcelona has bailed on the former Zinc spot. (Haven’t seen any action on the place since the matador poster went up.)

Everyone has that one friend who won’t stop going on about how hot they can eat their wings. Maybe they’ll have a sauce to shut that guy up.

They have the best wings. Cant wait for that Asian Zing.

This will rival: SBC, bradfords, brickhouse and Bobby V's and anyother sort of sports bar in stamford

Ate at the one in Port Chester once. Pretty tasty wings and a good beer selection.

Had lunch at Houlihan's two weeks ago with my son. Fish taco was OK. Boy was happy with his kid meal and the heaping bowl of ice cream that came w/ it. Place is very roomy, decent atmosphere.

I like their wings, but they are not true Buffalo wings! True Buffalo wings use Frank's Red Hot wing sauce, while BWW uses their own sauce (which isn't spicy enough for me). I don't know who has the best wings in town, but the best wings in the area are at Joe's American Grill in Fairfield.

    Vinny's has sick wings.

Another thumbs up for the buffalo wings at Vinny's Backyard in Springdale.

Another good spot for wings, but not buffalo-style, is Pellicci's. Bread is a must for soppage.

I've tried BWW in Port Chester and found the wings to be a bit puny, but with good sauces.

Is this place set up so that you can go there to watch a football game for example?

The one in Port Chester is huge....I dont think the old Hacienda will be enough square footage for a Buffalo Wild Wings. Are they taking the old Zinc site as well? What about the plans for Barcelona? Has Barcelona pulled out?

    You said pulled out.

I bet they also take over the chinese buffet spot and knock the wall down. Both are boarded up.

Archie Moore's in Fairfield has the best wings around. To bad we don't have one in Stamford.

I went to the BWW in Port Chester...not impressed with the wings. Agreed they are "puny." They have a good beer selection on tap though. Will rival SBC.

Btw I had the spicy Thai wings at Houlihan's and they rocked! I highly recommend them and the sliders. I may have to stop by there tonight.

I tried Vinny's wings last night; they were pretty good and actually spicy! (I laugh at most places' idea of spicy.)

A friend has since told me that Monster B's has "Don't Be A Hero" wings. Let's all split a plate!

So excited!!!! Any true BWW will be fantastic for watching games. Agreed that it doesn't look like enough space for one, but they must have a plan. As a recent transplant, I've been dying for decent BBQ wings--or anywhere at all that has reliable wings. I'll definitely try some of the places suggested. Too bad football season is practically over!

Side note: Bradford's waffle fries + ranch = heaven

I'm sure SBC is not happy about this. I like BWW, but I still have to stick with my local businesses.

The lousy Chinese buffet is going to be replaced by Mary Ann's Mexican. Apparently they have a place in Port Chester and Chelsie New York.

Great spot for sports wings and beer...Just what Stamford needs. Hopefully Barcelona will come through as well. Been to both Greenwich and Norwalk Barcelona, and they are both great.

I have eaten at BWW's in Rochester, NY, Addison, TX and Port Chester. At each location they use the same shipped-in wings, which are very undersized. They don't have enough meat and are from young chickens. P.S., I went to college in Buffalo!

Bobby V's wings are and remain to be the best wings I have ever tasted

This place sucks. Go to the one in Port Chester instead.

    1. One of the big screen TVs kept turning on & off.
    2. Some of the TVs have awful quality.
    3. The speakers aren't loud, so if you're going to watch a game/match you really care about you won't hear the commentators.
    4. The waitresses are neither attractive, nor attentive.
    5. The hostess was very discourteous and spoke down to my friends and I. Made us move 20 minutes after we had been sitting down and didn't even ask nicely.

Like I said before, go to the Port Chester or maybe even New Rochelle one instead. Better vibe.
