Dakshin --> Coromandel

Stamford's most popular downtown Indian Resteraunt, Dakshin, is rebranding as Coromandel to match it's SoNo and Darien brothers. The new name is coinciding with a swanky refurb of the interior. I'm no great connoisseur of Indian food, but I have enjoyed Dakshin. I usually ask the waiter with as much dignity as I can muster for "a plate of chicken in the red sauce and a plate of chicken in the yellow sauce."

With Coromandel, Meera, and Oceans 211's "Indian Cuisine" replacement all within feet of each other should we start calling The Summer/ Broad corner Little India?

    Coromandel (Darien) is simply amazing. I've also eaten at Dakshin, and Coromandel is far superior for some reason.

    agreed - although a moth ball in syrup should not count as dessert

    I had no idea they were owned by the same people.

    We frequent Tawa after a couple less than stellar experiences at Dashkin many years ago but have recently thought to try again. Would be interested to see how its changed and the new branding might make me go try it again soon. Ah marketing.

    I used to love Coromandel but it has gotten ridiculously expensive, even for FC.

    Curious to try the "new" Coromandel. Summer Street is looking to be the new restaurant row. With Houlihan's, Emmi, Siena, Il Falco and Napa - along with three Indian restaurants!
